FLB POWER RANKINGS
1.) SEATTLE MARINERS - Freadman's team dominated the regular season last year, only to fall just short in the FLB Championship. After a flurry of trades this offseason, they are revamped and ready to start fresh in 2015. An absolutely stacked lineup top to bottom has them once again as the favorites to win the FLB Championship. There is no one in the league who wants that title more than Freadman, and he's all in to win it this season.
(Projection: 17-5)
2.) COLORADO ROCKIES - D-Roy is coming off back-to-back FLB Championships and has kept the same core group of players together in hopes of a 3-peat. The past couple seasons they have managed to quietly get hot late in the season and make a New York Giants type playoff run. That won't happen this season though, as they have certainly gained the respect of the other owners. If they are going to make it three straight, they will do so with a giant target on their back.
(Projection: 15-7)
3.) BOSTON RED SOX - The three FLB Championships Storti has won are a distant memory. It's been 4 years since his last title and that was before the dynasty era. He hates losing and is hungry as ever to capture the highly coveted title once again. He carried on his strong pitching reputation by adding Kershaw this offseason, giving him a four-headed monster atop his pitching staff. Combine that with a few key lineup additions, and this team is poised for a big season.
(Projection: 15-7)
4.) CINCINNATI REDS - Perhaps the most intriguing team heading into this season. Coming off back-to-back seasons in which they've had successful regular seasons only to see first-round exits in the playoffs. A lethal lineup lead by Trout and Cabrera could become even more dangerous if some of their prospects can evolve this season. The question with this team has always been their pitching. They still are far from a top staff, but have made some big moves this offseason to land a few good arms. Expect an improved staff this season and another strong regular season. Can they translate this success to the playoffs is the question.
(Projection: 14-8)
5.) KANSAS CITY ROYALS - After a dismal first two seasons in the FLB, Ringler looks to finally show what he's capable of. Lead by some big bats and some strong pitching, he once again has what it takes on paper, but its a matter of translating that talent to the win column. I think this will finally be the year for Ringler and he will edge out a couple teams for a playoff spot. Once the playoffs start, anything can happen.
(Projection: 13-9)
6.) NEW YORK YANKEES - Shook has rebuilt his roster this offseason and has done a pretty good job. While he doesn't have many stars, he is really well-rounded and doesn't have many holes. If this team can stay healthy, don't be surprised if they sneak into to the playoffs.
(Projection: 12-10)
7.) CHICAGO CUBS - After back-to-back seasons of squeezing their way into a wild-card spot, this is the year they take a step back and rebuild a little bit. Still have enough talent to remain in contention all season, but in the end not quite enough to make playoff run this year. Couple years down the road this team could be legitimate contenders.
(Projection: 11-11)
8.) MINNESOTA TWINS - The 2010 champ is always in contention for a playoff spot. A Billy Beane type owner, Vigneron always finds a way to build solid, well-rounded teams without having many superstars. He finds efficient players who help him win match-ups. Once again he's put together well-rounded lineup and a much improved staff for 2015. Never sleep on this team.
(Projection: 9-13)
9.) NEW YORK METS - After dumping many of his big aging bats in the offseason, Teggi is not really in contention to win this season. The question is, did he get enough in return in those trades? Time will tell. The one thing he has going for him is a solid staff, lead by Wainwright and Scherzer. Don't expect much from this team in 2015, but hopefully they'll be back in contention in the near future.
(Projection: 3-19)
10.) SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS - New owner Tyler Barry has been dealt a tough task. Starting with a 2-20 roster from last year, he has his work cut out for him. He's already completely transformed his roster into young talent, including a couple massive contracts to young Cuban's Moncada and Tomas. It will be at least a couple years before this roster takes shape. Don't except much at all from this team in 2015 and maybe not even in 2016. Going to be a long rebuilding process.
(Projection: 1-21)
